Benchmark Brands Management Team
Alan Beychok
President
Alan Beychok founded Benchmark Brands, Inc. in 1989 following an extensive
career in brand marketing and product development. He holds a BS degree in
Mechanical Engineering and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin. Alan
was the New Products Marketing Director for the Dr. Scholl's and OTC Drug
Divisions of Schering-Plough, and held senior marketing management positions
with the Shulton division of American Cyanamid, and Holiday Inn Worldwide.
His entrepreneurial spirit has helped grow Benchmark Brands to a company with
anticipated revenues of $110 million in 2008.
Elizabeth Vogeley
VP Inventory Planning & Purchasing
Elizabeth joined Benchmark Brands from The Sports Authority where she worked 4
years and was the VP of Planning & Replenishment. Prior to that she was
with Burdines Department Stores (a division of Federated) for 13 years in
various planning and merchandising positions.
She is a graduate of Indiana University with a BS in Business.
David B. Higgins
Vice President, Hosiery/Sock Product Development
David joined Benchmark Brands after serving as a consultant to the company for
seven years.
David has held executive positions in the Hosiery and Sock industry, most
recently serving as President of high-tech hosiery firms such as Thorlo, Inc.
and TheraFoot Technologies, Inc. He is widely recognized as an expert in
high-tech socks and medical hosiery.
David has a Bachelors degree in Economics from the Catawba College School of
Business with additional University certifications.
Jeanne Chatfield
VP Catalog Circulation and Database Marketing
Prior to joining Benchmark Brands, Jeanne was at Ballard Designs, which is a
wholly owned subsidiary of Cornerstone Brands Inc., a family of leading catalog
companies for the home, leisure and casual apparel. She led both the catalog
and internet marketing initiatives for Ballard Designs for over six years.
Prior to joining Ballard Designs, Jeanne spent six years at Hanover Direct
Inc., a multi-title catalog company of home fashions, apparel and gift brands.
At Hanover Direct, she was Marketing Manger for Gump's by Mail and prior to
that she held positions in merchandise analysis and database marketing for the
Domestications and Silhouettes titles. Before joining Hanover Direct, Jeanne
worked in merchandise analysis at Disney Direct and Brownstone Studio.
Jeannie earned her BA in Financial Management/Economics from The Catholic
University of America
John Caplinger
Vice President of Consumer Experience
John joined Benchmark Brands from Allconnect Inc. where he worked for 5 years
and was VP/GM of Call Center Operations. Benchmark Brands customer contact
center services more than 1,000,000 calls per year and is a full-service
operation that handles sales for the company's FootSmart® catalog, as well as
calls generated from www.footsmart.com. The contact center also handles
customer returns and exchanges, and operates as an information resource for
customers seeking product information related to lower body health care
conditions.
John holds both a Bachelor of Science Degree in Combined Sciences and a Masters
of Science from Youngstown State University in Ohio.
Kim Gnatt
VP, Internet Marketing
Kim Gnatt is the VP of Internet Marketing for Benchmark Brands where she leads
the online marketing and operations for Footsmart.com. She is responsible for
the Footsmart.com shopping experience, and the online marketing channels
including Email, Paid Search, SEO, Contextual Advertising, Affiliate Marketing
and Social Media.
Kim brings both offline and online retail and marketing experience to Benchmark
Brands from The Home Depot, where she was the Director of Multi-Channel
Marketing. In her 7 years at Home Depot, she helped lead the strategy and
implementation of marketing and merchandising programs across all home
improvement categories.
Kim held various marketing positions with The Home Depot and Expo Design Center
for 7 years. Prior to joining The Home Depot, Kim held positions in traditional
and interactive media planning and account services with J Walter Thompson
Technology and Initiative Media.
Kim holds a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing from the University of Michigan and
is a certified Six Sigma Green Belt.
